How does it work?
Body Sculpting involves several different practices, making use of laser therapy, ultrasound technology, radiofrequency, etc. The different systems target different areas beneath the dermis to address different concerns. Whether cells are specifically targeted or aided towards drainage, cells are impacted, which leads to the "sculpted" outcome.

Why is a consultation recommended?
A consultation is always recommended prior to the start of services because there are several different factors that contribute to safe and effective sculpting practice, as well as outcomes. In some instances, individuals may not be suitable candidates for sculpting procedures and it is best practice to determine this before the appointment. My goal is to be transparent, realistic and resourceful. I want to recommend and provide services based on accurate professional depiction by observation. This will help ensure lasting results and facilitate proper and planned maintenance. A consultation is not required to be booked separately and can be briefly completed at your appointment. When scheduling, you can select additional time (listed as a service add-on) for same-day consultation if you do not wish to consult separately.

Who can undergo body sculpting?
Body sculpting is an awesome additive for athletes and trainees, as it helps the body detox and further enhances target areas. Body sculpting is also suitable for postoperative patients who are looking to maintain medical enhancements and recover gracefully. Often times, surgeons will recommend body sculpting following certain procedures. As sculpting services are not inclusive of active lymphatic massage drainage, medical clearance or referral is required for postoperative clients who have received abdominoplasty procedures, bariatric skin elimination procedures and other cosmetic enhancements (excluding BBL surgeries). Women who have recently given birth are also sculpting candidates at eight weeks postpartum, following medical clearance.

Are results permanent?
Yes. Body sculpting outcomes are real and permanent. This is not a trend or weight-loss gimmick. Fat deposits and / or skin cells are eliminated, reduced or contoured to produce real and permanent results. As with anything, proper nutrition and a consistent exercise regimen are required to maintain results. This is one reason why personal training and / or nutrition advising pair well with body sculpting sessions.

What's the difference between this and surgery?
In simplest terms, surgery is invasive and requires downtime. Surgeries can be costly and are often of higher intensity than my services. The results achieved during a single surgery can be achieved through consistent sculpting sessions over time. This is gentler on your body and requires no downtime.

Does it hurt?
No. Body sculpting is a painless procedure. At most, you will feel warmth from the nodes on the equipment. I make sure my clients are comfortable and can adjust intensity or warmth if the procedures are ever uncomfortable. I have undergone each service that I provide to others and can personally support the claim that body sculpting is non-invasive, requires no downtime and is completely painless.

How do I know if I'm a candidate for sculpting?
During your consultation, I will address any specific concerns you may have and review the required paperwork / intake packet with you. At that time, your candidacy will be reviewed and your appointments can be scheduled either individually or as part of a package deal. Most people are appropriate candidates for sculpting, however, if you have any specific concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Do I have to workout and diet?
Mindfulness will help you to maintain your results. A consistent exercise regimen, paired with mindful nutrition habits will optimize your body sculpting outcomes. Results are permanent, however, require your effort and input following the session(s). I always recommend proper hydration, intentional physical activity and waist training, when possible, to enhance client results. Personal training and nutrition advising pair very well with body sculpting for this reason.

Is laser liposuction better than fat cavitation?
As a professional, I would not say that one procedure is "better," than another. Everyone's body is different and will respond to or benefit from different things in different ways. Laser-liposuction shrinks fat deposits beneath the dermis. Fat cavitation liquifies fat deposits beneath the dermis and aids in lymphatic drainage. Determining which service would better benefit the individual would require a consultation. Typically, laser liposuction produces more proportionate outcomes for individuals with lower body fat percentages and fat cavitation produces more dramatic results for those with more body fat and mass. The more suitable treatment, as well as your preference, should it differ, will be reviewed during the consultation.

How does mechanical gluteal augmentation (vacuum enhancement therapy) work?
This non-invasive massaging technique helps to tone and lift your skin using a mechanical cupping method. Vacuum therapy stimulates the muscles, generating the equivalent of a post-workout "glute pump." For optimal results, at least six sessions are recommended, along with collagen supplementing (collagen is a protein), mindful nutrition and a consistent weight / resistance exercise regimen. There are volume (mid-section of buttocks), shelf (top of buttocks / back-dip) and hip (side) options available for vacuum therapy. This treatment may also be done on the breasts.

Who can perform body sculpting?
Body sculpting should be administered by a trained body sculpting / contouring professional. Body sculpting certifications should be obtained from an accredited education source to ensure safe practice. Although there is no official regulatory board for this scope of services (as of August, 2024), body sculpting providers are expected to operate according to med-spa professional guidelines and should adhere to all requirements of medi-aesthetic and cosmetic contour providers on the federal and state levels. Soon, this practice is set to be regulated under a medical professional board, specific to registered nurses and those of higher licensure only. I am currently enrolled in an accredited clinical nursing program with the intention to maintain the body contouring practices post-regulation. I like to disclose this information to reassure my clients that they are in good hands. Safe practice is best practice! Plus, not to toot my own horn, but I currently hold a 3.90 GPA in my nursing program. :)
